UPDATE 15:00 UK: This year’s event, the Summer Sigrblot Festival, will take place from July 29th to August 19th, Ubisoft has now announced.
Valhalla’s “Siege of Paris” expansion will land right in the middle of it on August 12th.
Preparations for the above will come along with a handful of new capabilities as part of tomorrow’s 1.3.0 patch. These include Light Fingered (automatic loot nearby), Thrill of War (gain adrenaline in conflict), Heidrun Slam (press R2 while sprinting to knock back enemies), Idunn’s Heart (passively regenerate recent health loss after a short delay), Survival instinct (hold at less than a third of your health -> for partial healing in exchange for adrenaline) and wolf warrior (damage increases the lower your health is).
UPDATE 10.50 a.m. UK: A new update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will add a level scaling option to the game for the first time.
Coming as part of tomorrow’s upcoming Valhalla patch, the feature will allow you to override the game’s difficulty settings for different areas.
As it stands, Valhalla offers a number of territories, the difficulties of which are tied to your gear level. You’ll want better gear before venturing too far out into the world, even though players who have completed the game have said that there is now no more challenge as they keep playing.
Level scaling is coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Tuesday, July 27th! ? You can choose from 5 options, from “Off” to Nightmare. ? pic.twitter.com/pGz2oTjZZY

As the game progresses, your goal is to become an alien power by using passive skills and unlockable skills to hack off various limbs.
For this reason Valhalla lets “feel the development of her character and destroy her enemies” with deactivated level scaling, since enemies “spawn exactly as prescribed in the region description”.
But new settings for Constant, Harder and Nightmare make the game even more challenging for those who want it.
This week’s update also adds support for one-handed swords – a longstanding fan request.
Ubisoft will be releasing full patch notes for the update tomorrow, July 27th. We expect to hear soon when the game’s summer festival is taking place and when its second major expansion – The Siege of Paris – will unlock.
In addition, Valhalla is facing a second year of expansion – a first for the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
